“Scarecrow on Fire”, Fitzgerald Theater November 26, 27, 28
As part of the Fitzgerald Theater’s Centennial Season Minnesota Public Radio has commissioned a new theater piece from storyteller Kevin Kling and Theater Latté Da director Peter Rothstein. “Scarecrow on Fire” will premiere at the Fitzgerald Theater.
Kevin Kling takes the stage as the Scarecrow, storyteller of Oz. The performance will include funny tales and untold adventures as Kevin Kling’s Scarecrow shares some of the misplaced chronicles of the enchanted kingdom called Kansas. A collection of monologues filed with music, theatrics and drama will all be part of the fantastical journey. The show will give special attention to the trilogies of Heart, Brains and Courage and gives us glimpses of Dorothy throughout the different stage of her life. The show will use a backdrop of film footage pulled from multiple early, silent Wizard of Oz movies.
